It is with great sadness and immense heartache in hearing of Fernando’s passing. Words cannot describe how much we cared for Fernando and how much we will miss him. Our hearts, love, thoughts and prayers go out to Fatima, Hugo and all the family in this very difficult time. Fernando was an extraordinary person who was full of life and energy, had a huge heart of gold, and was always there for those he loved, for family and for friends. We will never forget his kindness, his contagious laughter, his beaming smile under his moustache, his care and concern, his wicked sense of humour, but mostly how he welcomed us after we had been away from Portugal for so many years. Fernando’s passing has certainly left an enormous hole in our hearts, in the Amaro family’s hearts and in all of those who knew him. As much as we would want to have him stay here, may he rest in peace up in heaven together with those who have also left us far too soon.
